Summer in the Sonoran Desert, a Photo Essay

In June 2017, I drove 1500 miles around the desert, sightseeing and taking photos. I shot film mostly on two camera. A medium format Yashica Mat 124G, shooting 220 rolls of Kodak Portra 160. And a Minolta X700 loaded with Ektar 100.

There's a desert that starts behind the mountains of San Diego and stretches for 1000 miles to West Texas. I was assured that there was nothing to see between San Diego and Tucson, Arizona – I thought I'd find out for myself.
